There is a growing debate among politicians, congressmen and normal men alike, as to which approach is the best to take when it comes to getting a country out of debt. Many people are now looking at the American ’success'story, which has supposedly come about in recent months due to Obama’s brave decision to invest in public spending. The latest figures show that the economic situation has started to improve slightly due to his strategy. On the other hand, you have the tight budget approach of the current UK government, which seems to be struggling to turn things around so quickly or effectively. So which is the right way to go?

For starters, you need to give both of these trends much longer timescales before true success can be measured and accurately gauged. It is easy to look over the Atlantic and think that the brave Obama has got it all right, and that they are the model to follow, because I would strongly suggest that the figures are being stretched and warped to try and give people something to feel good about. Also, an initial drop in unemployment figures etc is no indication of what the scheme is going to do over a 10 or 20 year time span. In the UK, although it may seem as if the tight money spending, low investment, and cut backs are having a negative effect on the country, but in all honesty this policy might be the only way to prevent further debts and produce some real, long term results.

It is as simple as this, if you don’t have it, don’t spend it. You could go out and sell some jewellery online if you had some stock and had the ability to do so, but if you were going to have to ’borrow'money from someone to purchase stock, at over inflated interest rates, by the time you have sold the jewellery and have your money back, you will owe even more than you have earned. This principle is just the same when you take it to a national level. Borrowing money to invest, only leaves you with larger debts, with high interest rates, which means that although it may seem as if you are doing well, the large debts in the background cancel that out. My conclusion on the matter is this; if you have to borrow more money to invest, it is probably not a good idea.

Recently insurer LV= released a Cost of a Child in the United Kingdom (UK) research it had done. According to this new research the cost of bring up a child up until their twenty-first birthday has now gone past £218,000. This is an increase of about 3.3% over the last survey the largest expenditure for parents are education which is estimated to cost close to £72,000 and childcare with estimated cost of just over £62,000.

Loss of earnings due to parents taking time to raise their children is not included in the report. It is apparent from the report that reduced disposable income and higher inflation have played a significant role on family’s financial situation. Just of 75% of the respondent n the survey reported that they have taken steps to cut back the family budget because of the greater future potential of financial headaches.

Generally parents report that they are now paying about 5% more on education including essential items such as university tuition fees, after school care, sports equipment, and school uniform.

There is an increase during the university years (18-21) in the cost of raising a child with parent forking out close to £18,000 a year. For parents with new borns there is also an increase of 2.8% in the first year cost of raising their baby which work out to about just over £10,000.

When coupled with the revelation by another insurance company, Aviva, that the typical UK family debt increased by just under 50% since the start of 2011 it would seem that many children in the UK are at risk of being out on the road because their family cannot afford them.

Most parents still have the dream of their child going to university and are will to make the necessary change to make that so.

Chances are there are those who are trying to make money by working extra jobs and playing the lottery and saving their winnings. Even those who have received accidents at work compensation are now saving for their child’s future.

Barclays has reported significant profit increase in its business in both retail and investment banking operations. The bank has issued reports both intended for the general public and for the Bank of England for purposes of supervision and tax payments. The documentation reveals that despite the strong market concentration, the current financial discomfort and the international finance situation, Barclays has somehow managed to rise its profits with nearly 3-4% as compared with business results from last year.

Thus Barclays remains the most influential and largest UK bank. In terms of retail banking, the bank is the UK champion servicing nearly one third of all customers in the UK. A survey shows that people are generally supposed to believe that Barclays is the most trustworthy and responsible bank among all in the UK. This is probably due to the fact that it remained generally stable even during the financial crisis of 2008. Furthermore, international students and people willing to invest their money into the UK would most certainly choose Barclays as a personal banking services provider because of their efficiency to provide strong support for their clients. This is additionally boosting the performance of the bank as it enjoys large international support.

The investment banking services provided by Barclays Group (Barclays Capital branch), however, have not marked such a strong and progressive increase. The reason is that investment banking services by other competitors (such as HSBC and Citi) tend to be more reasonable as such institutions have larger nets of investment facilities and enjoy a diversified financial products. Barclays Capital, however, still remains an influential player in the wholesale banking industry and the reports produced for the Bank of England indicate that the Bank would be aiming to work closely with oil producers and retailers, where currently there are great business opportunities. The bank might have already concluded a significant investment opportunity with one of the most well developing oil companies in the UK - Crown Oil (please visit http://www.crownoiluk.com for more information).
Thus Barclays marks a new era of dominance over the retail banking market in the UK. Nevertheless, it would still significant amount of time to reach the wholesale banking abilities of other major competitors on the investment services market.

With a shocking unemployment rate of 21 percent, the country is looking for a novel solution to its lack of productivity. The Spanish government is now proposing a shorter national lunch break during week days to help reduce energy costs in the workplace.

Despite Spain’s relatively laid-back work culture, Spaniards work very long hours. This is because of the country’s marathon ‘lunch hour’, which begins at 2pm but doesn’t finish until 4pm. This means many workdays don’t finish until 7pm or 8pm, with major events like football matches or prime-time TV often not commencing until after 10pm. However, some campaigners believe leaving work earlier could cut energy bills by decreasing the amount of electricity and heating that companies consuming on weekdays. With an earlier end to the working day, Spaniards would generally go to bed earlier in the night, reducing their sleeping deprivation and promoting a more attentive and healthier working population.

Another method is to encourage Spaniards to work more flexibly. For example, investment bankers, Divorce lawyers and medical doctors could reduce their lunch break and schedule an important meeting in the middle of the afternoon, ensuring that all employees have left the workplace by 5pm or 6pm. However, some people have criticised these suggestions, stating that Spanish culture is generally associated with late nights and later evening meals than most other European nations. Many restaurants may also suffer from a loss of business if the working day finishes earlier because more Spaniards may be inclined to cook at home than to eat out. A high proportion of Spaniards eat out regularly because it is faster and more convenient than having to cook at home at late hours. Critics also say the vibrant nightlife culture of Spanish cities, particularly Madrid and Barcelona, could be compromised if the lunch hour is shortened. Whether it would cut down the employment rate and improve productivity remains to be seen.

Google Inc. has been under the investigation procedures of the US Federal Trade Commission for more than six months and it has been made public the decision of the commission to expand the investigation. This comes after several companies have inquired about the competition levels that Google has reached after it launched its own interactive and digital products. Furthermore, the commission would be now reviewing Google’s activity by collecting data from other rivals of the search engine giant.

When it comes to advertising, Google has made it sure they can cover the aspects of trade starting from contemporary designer jewellery stores to drinks and foods, however, many companies that do not engage in online activity rather than selling say that Google searches are prioritized to return results of companies that work with Google advertising techniques. In short, Google is accused of delivering search results that first match their own advertising techniques and then the actual producers of such goods that offer them online.

Further dispute arises between Microsoft and similar companies and Google. They claim that with their power of the most preferred search engine, Google is using the position to imply its products over the competition. Selective searches have been made specifically to answer the demand for products and to relate them somehow to Google products.

The commission would be working over the antitrust investigation until it finds credible evidence that Google is either misusing its position or acting fairly. Meanwhile, companies that feel affected by Google can deliver information and evidence to the commission which would consider both Google and other materials for its final decision on the antitrust inquiry.

Recently editions such as the Lawyer and Legal Week have issued quite disturbing notions among the law firms in London. This also applies to international establishments that have gained positions in the city, mainly originating from the US or Germany. The notions are all related to a single idea - the realization of law students after their graduation. The magazines fail to establish many reasons for the occurrence but it seems like less training contracts would be offered to graduates this year.

The reason seems to be quite a disturbing tendency that goes beyond the perception of a crisis. Most of the law firms are making serious profits despite the worsened economic condition in the UK. Nevertheless, they all use the economic environment as an excuse to hire less law graduates and thus impose significant hardship over young people aiming to start a legal sector career. No matter whether a firm is defending the interests of a Dance Fabrics company or a giant corporation, it makes a profit simply by receiving state funds for cases done under the civil aid program. This money might have been enough for recruiting new trainees, however, this is far but the truth.

Leading establishments tend to discourage young people from applying - the new application process is exhausting and far too picky. This leaves room for Oxford of Cambridge graduates to stand out of the crowd but what happens with students who attend normal universities. Discriminatory and complicated with many flaws and prejudices - this is how the recruitment process for law graduates in London is going to be from now on.

Oregon based company, the name of which is not publicly named, has been conducting fraudulent trade activity with Ukrainian partners in Eastern Europe, doubling prices of vaccines after contracts have been signed with interested traders. This has been the decision of a US court after it observed the latest pieces of evidence. The claimants, Ukrainian government, succeeded in the domestic lawsuit in obtaining compensation for disturbance of trade from its home-based company, and now won the trial against the US firm conducting the trade contracts.

The framework of the fraud is simple. Misrepresentation occurs in the initiation of the contract considerations - the vaccines are presented without a tax which was later imposed by the firm and which cannot be excluded due to formulation in the contract which misleads the other party. After finding the customers and spreading the word of the vaccines, a pharmaceutical company from Ukraine arranges its US trader to meet the potential buyers. Presenting quite reliable trade conditions, the buyers agree to conclude the sale of vaccines and later on, they are being overcharged.

The lawsuit was quite controversial because of two factors. Firstly, the vaccines were exclusively sold by the Ukrainian firm which indicates the involvement of high class administration in the fraud scheme. Secondly, in Ukraine, even the GP Locum jobs are being awarded in a corrupted system of appointment. This considers involvement of the state in the scheme, however, not yet proved. The Oregon based company is now under termination of trade activity with Ukraine, however, the problem still persists as with or without UK capital, the corrupted scam system remains in operation with other international players on the medicine trade.

Recently, the government has established a body of independent peers and specialists to conduct a survey and measure the cost efficiency of the rail services in the United Kingdom as compared to prices across Europe including more advanced economies such as Germany and wealthier countries like Sweden.

The research has been led by one of the most prominent transport specialists, Sir Roy McNulty who was a chairman of the Civil Aviation authority and whose competence in the area is undoubted. Furthermore, social interactions have been allowed and people have directly answered questions on what their most serious concerns are. The results indicate one-sided problem with many shades on the side - the problems seem to emerge from the unreasonably high fares that the railway services are charging customers. As compared to Germany and Sweden, the fares are almost 30% higher, however, during a rising inflation level and only a few months left until the beginning of the traditional autumn transport increase due to inflation in the past year, things do not seem quite bright for the people who use the rail services on a regular basis.
According to Sir Roy McNulty the prices can be far more reasonable if they are let not to increase and if the increase is only in trend with the reasonably expected inflation. This should not affect the prices significantly in the upcoming year which would give a chance of the people to get used to a better priced services. Human resources software has also been proposed as a good alternative in managing huge queues and delays on the tracks, however, this seems to be of little importance given the capacity that people have to pay. Most of the people questioned by the surveyors about their comments complain mainly because of the prices. However, the industry remains the best performing branch as thousands of people every minute use the rail services.

Recently, several governments in Eastern Europe (as reported by Bulgarian Sofia News Agency) have concluded that the major changes in the oil prices in Europe are dictated by Middle East crisis but are largely supported by the Russian dominance over the continent. The problems that Europe is facing are the high commodity prices and Eastern Europe is the region that has been hurt the most since the oil prices there are becoming unbearable for the population that cannot afford more expensive fuels.

The governments have made the assumption, based on political and economic considerations, that the Russians are actually making the wrong choice by complying with the prices. Even though the Middle East has a reason to increase commodity prices, the Russian oil exporters are doing this on purpose, because they can now offer crisis-free oil and can put any price on it because the European countries would largely depend on it. According to leading economists in the two countries, nothing can actually make Russia increase prices at that level and it only does so in order to boost its sales and benefits from the forced European Commodity market.

Airlines, even the biggest ones in Eastern Europe hosting luxury London flights, were the first to express concern. Bulgaria Air have officially stated they want the national regulator to impose limits on the oil prices. The trade unions in Romania and Greece have also made requests to the domestic power for a national measure that would prevent the future increase in the prices which might incur severe losses and worsen the inflation rates in the region.

Brazilian employment law has been long a mystery for legal analyzers who have no idea how to deal with such jurisdiction. Local lawyers need to read 900 articles if they want to know the employment code in the country and even judges face difficulties to impose decisions since the law itself is quite abnormal, putting burden on both legislation and people bound by it.
As early as 1994 the Brazilian employment law is attracting attention through its complexity. Several employees began a lawsuit against a store chain the country where the just starting two men bought the chain. The workers admitted that needed to be paid additional compensation for overtime and expenses. Since the chain owners have not yet started any administrative organization of documentation the court was bound to rule against them. Thus several employees were awarded 570 000 American dollars.
A pretty heavy burden is thus imposed on employers. Some of the legal rules, even in stable spheres like red diesel production, put unnecessary burden and unreasonable hardship in employers. The legal rules in the country have their origins even from Mussolini’s Italian codex of labor and thus are considered quite outdated and subjected to a theology that was condemned by almost all world nations.
So Brazilian laws on employment are quite strict on employers. But employees are quite happy with them. The labor country is aiming to reduce unemployment and in its growing stage of economy it needs no redundancies. This is why for a redundancy to take place, an employer needs to have more than a good reason.
